We have a lot of olive wood handles that are still fantastic olive wood handles, but have less "character" or grain than our regular olive wood handles.  These will usually have typical olive grain visible on less than 50% of the circumference of the handle, and due to this more plain appearance we are offering them at a significant discount here.   As we have similar steam knobs, we are still able to make good attempts to match the appearance of these to our steam knobs if ordered together.

NOTE that the image gallery shows a single (standard) olive wood handle - but also a range of these "less grain" handles so that you can appreciate the appearance.   As the handles are attached with an M10 screw, using suitable shims (not supplied) will often allow you to adjust the final rotational position of the handle if you prefer one position or another.

This is a wooden portafilter handle only - and none of the metal portafilter parts (other than mounting screw) are included.

It has an M10 screw thread suitable for connecting to many standard metal portafilters, including the ones that we sell here.

These handles are NOT suitable for the Gaggia OEM standard or bottomless portafilters.

Olive wood care and maintenance:  Most of our wooden products have a varnished finished, though the olive wood products are special and have an oiled finish - which typically requires periodic maintenance in order to enhance the appearance and feel of the grain, prevent any issues with cracking and increases the longevity of the wood.  As required, the olive wood should be lightly reoiled with food grade mineral oil (not olive oil or vegetable oil as this won't usually dry) - we find that very lightly sanding the handle with a very fine sandpaper before applying oil can also help the oil to be absorbed and makes the surface super-smooth after application.  Ensure the wood is dry and dust free by rubbing with a dry cloth, and then simply pour a little food grade mineral oil onto a cloth and rub this into the surface of the wood, leave it to dry for 10-15 minutes, the reapply - and after a further 15 minutes use a dry paper towel or cloth to remove any excess oil. That's it!
