Silicone Group Gasket (Red) ø 72x57x8.5mm
Suitable for Gaggia Classic and E61 machines.
These soft silicone rubber group seals are ideal for upgrading the black rubber seals within the standard machine. They provide a much longer useful life (though it's still a good idea to change them approximately annually) and remain soft and pliable throughout their lifetime - resulting in a positive and progressive locking in of the portafilter.
As these group gaskets do not become firm over months and years of use, they are significantly easier to remove for cleaning, maintenance or replacement than standard black rubber ones.
Blue gaskets have writing on one side, and this writing should be installed facing upwards - with the smooth side facing down; Red gaskets are smooth on both sides and may be installed either way round.
Both the 8.5mm gasket and the 8.0mm gasket will fit the Classic - the difference in thickness results in a slight difference to the portafilter final lock-in position: with the 8.5mm gasket, a firm lock-in will see the handle around 6-7 o'clock; whereas the 8.0mm allows the handle to rotate further, typically locking in around 5-6 o'clock.
Please select which colour you would like:
Red - OEM, supplied by Gaggia - smooth on both sides, no text on them at all.
Blue - 3rd party, supplied by REPA - smooth on one side, branding on the other side. Identical in size to the red one, just cheaper.
NOTE that this group gasket is not suitable for the Gaggia Classic RI9403 model.

Your question:
Would this fit the new Pro version ? if not would you have the 8 mm one soon in stock ?Our answer:
Yes, this 8.5mm works well with the Classic Pro - and provides a lock-in position (at 6 or 7 o'clock) similar to the standard rubber gasket. If you'd prefer the portafilter to lock in a little further (5 or 6 o'clock) then the 8mm will work well - and we'll have them in stock soon.

Saw my portafilter seeping whilst pulling a shot and decided to grab a new seal (the blue one)…. Didn’t realise quite how solid/brittle the original seal was, a real mission to chip and break it away from the machine! Once removed and cleaned up, the new seal slips in perfectly and is a great fit. Good quality and has cured my drip - my only regret was not doing it sooner, it’s definitely on my annual service list now!
