IMPORTANT: SUPERSTEAM FOR THE ORIGINAL CLASSIC REQUIRES EITHER A PID WITH STEAM CONTROL, OR THE SHADES OF COFFEE CLASSIC SWITCHBANK
Having good steam power / pressure with a Classic needs only two things - a boiler with enough water in it, and a high enough boiler temperature to generate steam.
The Shades Supersteam kit addresses both of these areas, to give you a Classic that will never run out of steam power...
Our PID kit customers will know that the boiler steam temperature can be adjusted by using the PID functionality - but if you don't have one, and have a fairly standard machine (with Shades Switchbank) then you can select our Supersteam+ kit and we'll include a new steam thermostat that provides greater steam temperature as well.
Supersteam is a small device that automatically and continually adds small amounts of water (and additional pump pressure) to the boiler whilst the machine is in steam mode. This ensures that you never empty the boiler of water (and hence steam) whilst the Classic is in steam mode.
To reiterate, in order for Shades SuperSteam to work properly on an original Classic, you need either:
1. A PID installed, that is also controlling steam temperature (such as a Shades of Coffee PID kit); or
2. A Shades Switchbank installed
The device comes pre-wired and pre-configured and ready to install - and just requires a few connections to the front switch connections of an original Classic (unfortunately this isn't compatible with the RI9403 / Classic V2)
NOTE: This product is suitable for the original Classic. If you have a Classic Pro / Evo then please see the similar version for these models here.

Can this be fitted to a machine which already had a pid so you can get the boiler fill functionality as well?Our answer:
Yes, if you already have a PID then you just need the SuperSteam version, rather than SuperSteam+ (which includes an uprated thermostat)
